Different from dancing for entertainment, the principle of Daoyin Dance emphasizes on the enhancement of "Yan Qi" through activating the circulation of spinal cord, which is "Du mandarin" in traditional Chinese medicine. In the view of TCM, depression is a mental-physical disorder, partially attributed by shortness of "Yang Qi".
